You need: Flour or corn tortillas
Any kind of cheese, such as american or mozzarella.
Depending on whether you are shredding cheese or using presliced "kid cheese", put a thin layer about 1/4-1/2 inch thick on tortilla. Top with another tortilla. Zap in microwave for about a minute, let cool. Cut like a pizza into triangles.
Variation: you can sneak veggies (or cooked meats) into this tortilla by shredding them along with the cheese. I have managed to get my oldest to eat broccoli and carrots this way...:)
This is really a no brainer (and isn't that so typical of all moms with babies?)
Take a clean, PEELED fruit or vegetable. Depending on how paranoid a parent you are, you can always go organic!
Cut up fruit or veggie into smallish pieces. Put into blender.
Variation: If you don't have a blender (what planet are you from, anyway?), just cut up VERY small or even use a shredder...but don't do this with carrots.
Add a little water, then puree.
Variation: Add fruit juice instead of water for a more robust flavor.
Stop and check consistency. For very young babies, you want it as smooth as silk with no lumps. You can keep adding a tiny bit of water until desired consistency is acheived.
For older babies, it doesn't have to be as smooth or watery but bear in mind that it has to be easily swallowed w/o chewing.
Good foods to start with include apples, pears, carrots (ONLY with a blender) and cooked potatoes. Chicken with broth is good for older babies.

Add more water to make a gallon (2 liters). Simmer for 15 minutes. Serve hot in a mug or cup over a slice of lemon. Makes 8 servings.
*Put the saved berry pulp in a small pan with 3/4 cup sugar. Low boil for 10 minutes and viola - a tasty cranberry sauce!
So simple!
Pre-heat medium sized skillet, add a pat of butter and then add a wheat tortilla to the pan, top with a slice of ham (we use nitrate free ham), thinly sliced pears, and shredded cheese. Top with the other tortilla and cook over low-medium heat until the cheese melt and pears are heated through. My son loves it!
Of course you can pre-assemble everything and then put the premade quesadilla in the pan but I find it easier to make it in the pan (so the filling won't spill out).
I put this recipe together, trying to improve on an American classic - hot dogs and beans! I am listing it under the Kid Pleaser section here, but, my wife and I do not have children and we enjoy this every time I make it. This recipe can be doubled for larger families. Trust me, it doesn't sound like something fantastic, but once you try it, it'll become a family staple. Enjoy!

These cookies are my MIL's recipe. My kids LOVE LOVE LOVE these cookies. When friends of our family wrestled in high school, she would have to make a big bag of these cookies. They would gobble them up after they weighed in.

I received this recipe at my son's daycare here in Florence, Italy. We parents were invited to meet with a woman who comes in to the center to do phsycologically based play several times a month. The finger painting is supposed to involve the whole body and develop fine and gross motor skills. Plus, it's messy (i.e. fun!) and this recipe makes a very glossy cool finished picture. Remember it has to dry for awhile! All of the parents really had fun trying the paint, we made decorations for Christmas to hang around the school.
1 packet of gelatine in sheets (have not seen these yet)
6 Cups boiling water
3 Cups corn starch
12 tsp. sugar
6 Cups cold water
Food Coloring
Disolve the gelatine in the boiling water, put to the side. Blend the corn starch, sugar and cold water in a pan, heat until slightly solidified. Add the gelatine and blend well.
Ladle the "paint" onto heavy paper. The woman who showed us had paper that was glossy on one side, and taped it down to the table, glossy side up. It's a clear/whitish gelatinous mess at this point, then drip food coloring in various spots and start to "paint". It is completely edible, great for toddlers, but does need overnight to dry, depending on how thick your toddler layers it!
She also told us do not be alarmed at the large amount, you can store it, it will solidify but just re-heat with some hot water.
1 (425 g) Cheerios
1 (500g) Shreddies
225 g pretzel sticks
1 box cheese nips (or Pepperidge Farm Goldfish)
3 cups salted peanuts
2 cups vegetable oil
5 T Worcestershire sauce
6 dashes Tabasco sauce
3 t. each: onion, celery, garlic and seasoned salts
Put first 5 in a large roaster. Heat oil and sauces and pour over. Sprinkle salts 1 t. at a time and mixing well after each. Preheat oven to 175. Place in oven for 2 hours stirring twice.
It has become tradition to make this every Christmas to much on and to share with friends. It is better than store bought! I don't remember how much it makes but I filled a 4 litre ice cream container and then some!

I am a Mom and used to be a Cub Scout leader. This idea got me through many parties and scout meetings/events!! The kids really get a kick out of making their very own ice cream.
ZIP BAG ICE CREAM
1 tablespoon sugar
1/2 cup milk or half & half
1/4 teaspoon vanilla
6 tablespoons rock salt
1 pint-size ziploc plastic bag
1 gallon-size ziploc plastic bag
ice cubes
Fill the large bag half full of ice and add the rock salt. Seal the bag.
Put milk, vanilla and sugar into the small bag and seal it. Place the small bag inside the large bag and seal it again.
Shake until the mixture turns into ice cream, about 5 minutes. THIS is the fun part - turn on some silly songs or new radio stations and watch the kiddos shake!!!
Top with sprinkles, nuts or any other topping and serve.
My youngest son is a huge hot dog fan but I didn't like to serve him these fatty salty treats full of preservatives very often so I embarked upon finding a recipe to make my own and thus have a little more control over the nutrition aspect of them. He's a teenager now and these are still a favorite treat requested often.

Coat hot dogs with the batter and fry two at a time in a large skillet for three minutes turning a few times.
Here's my answer to frozen or fastfood chicken nuggets. A few years ago I babysat my niece and nephew for a weekend and we served these. They disappeared rapidly and their parents upon returning home asked for the recipe as the kids normally refused to eat chicken dishes.
