2 cups ice
1/2 cup fresh lime juice
3/4 cup white Tequila

Cover and chill. When ready to serve, stir in the chilled Coca-Cola. Serve over ice cubes in tall glasses.
For a beverage, top with whipped cream.
For a dessert, add a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

I recently purchased Rose Syrup, and have been trying different recipes with it. This was very simple, and made a very elegant drink. Just add one shot of rose syrup to a flute glass and fill with your favorite champagne. Festive! :)
For lack of anything else to mix with our gin one night, my beautiful wife concocted this.

3 oz Apple Cranberry Sparkling Cider

Pour over ice and enjoy! Very refreshing.

A nice winter classic, which I feel shouldn't be made just around the holidays.
1 litre red wine (if you pick a good one it's always nicer but you don't have to go too pricey)
10 fl oz ginger ale
10 fl oz strained tea
1 clementine with 10 cloves stuck into it
3 cinnamon sticks
2 tsp mixed spice
4 oz brown sugar
Good quality orange juice (amount depends on how weak or strong you want the wine)
1 glass either whiskey, rum or brandy (again your choice or whatever you have on hand)
In a saucepan add the wine, ginger ale, tea, clementine, brown sugar, spices and cinnamon. Let the mixture heat up a bit then add the orange juice, heat the mixture for about half an hour but don't let it boil. Before you are ready to serve your drink add the glass of whiskey or whatever you chose, you can even add a bit more if you like. Then gather with friends and family and enjoy.
I tried for many years to find the right combination and this one is perfect for me. Making a good martini seems to be a lost art - everything gets thrown into them these days. I like it this way - it's simple, traditional and it's the way a martini was meant to be.
>Pour about a shot of Bombay Gin into a shaker with 2 ice cubes. Don't overdo the gin.
>Add just a splash of Martini & Rossi Extra Dry Vermouth - more than a few drops is too much.
>Shake it up.
>Put two Spanish Queen Olives on a toohpick and put them in the bottom of a martini glass.
>Strain the martini into the glass and enjoy while the glass is still chilled.
100mls Vodka
100mls Aromatic Bitters
100mls Lemon Cordial (or reduce same amount of lemon juice and 1/2 cup white sugar)
600mls Lemon Squash
Ice Cubes
Place ice in glass or small jug. Add all ingredients and stir gently.
For attractive effect, place bitters in a glass first with ice, then slowly top with cordial and lemon squash.
This favourite drink of mine is great for hot days and is lovely made virgin also. Popular in Australia, it uses Angostura® aromatic bitters which can be found usually in the international section of the supermarket or in liquor stores.
Enjoy!

basically i'm not a drinker. i just don't really like alcohol all that much, unless i'm taking shots - and beer just gets me full. so i wanted something that i can drink like a soda, that isn't too sweet, but still has a bite. Something that i can drink while watching a dvd with some popcorn. turned out, this drink was the hit of the party :)
My husband and I love these in the summer. He actually makes them bettr than I, but you can tweek as you go. His inspiration was the lemonade drinks that you get at a fair.
This is for 1 Large 16 oz glass.
1 Lemon squeezed, seeded ( i like the lemon floating in the glass for flavor but its a little rustic)
1/4 c. Sugar
2 shots Vodka (+ or -)
Fill with Ice ( i made ice cubes with slices of lemon and m. cherries in them. great garnish)
Fill the rest with Water. Shake well.
A piture is great. Just double or triple the recipe.
This came straight from The Joy of Cooking. It's dense and far, far more satisfying than that thin watery stuff you'd get from a packet.
* 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa
* 1/3 cup sugar
* 1 teaspoon cornstarch or arrowroot
* 2 cups milk or half milk-half water
1. Mix the cocoa, sugar and cornstarch together until thoroughly blended.
2. Add 1/2 cup liquid to a medium saucepan and set over low heat. Whisk in the cocoa mixture until thoroughly incorporated and no lumps remain. Add the rest of the liquid.
3. Cook, stirring constantly, over medium-low heat, until the mixture is thickened (it coats the back of a spoon), about ten minutes.
Makes 2 servings.
The cornstarch is a great thickener - it won't clump like flour will, it's smooth and tasteless. Don't use regular flour to thicken this.
Serving-wise, once the cocoa has thickened, you can stir in a hint of additional flavorings before serving. 1/4 tsp vanilla or almond extract or Grand Marnier would be nice. Dust with cinnamon or nutmeg. Alternatively, you can make this, substituting half the liquid with coffee, to make a nice mocha.
Double or triple the amount of the dry ingredients, mix, and keep in a sealed jar in the cupboard. To make, it's one part mix to two parts liquid. Just remember to give the mix a shake before using, to reintegrate the sugar.

Coffee Bean Vodka: Place 16 whole coffee or espresso beans on a piece of 100% cotton cheesecloth and tie into a bundle with clean 100% cotton string. Gently crush a few beans by tapping lightly with a rolling pin. Pour one 750 ml bottle of vodka into a plastic freezer container; insert the bundle into the vodka. Cover; store in the freezer for at least four days or up to two weeks. To keep the vodka chilled longer, remove the coffee bean bundle.
Another cocktail using coffee vodka from previous post.
You can also use the Coffee Bean Vodka to make an Espresso Martini.
Fill a martini shaker with ice. Add 2 tbsp Coffee Bean Vodka. Shake vigorously. Strain vodka into a well-chilled martini glass. Add 1/2 cup cold brewed coffee; stir gently. Add a splash of cream or cream-based liqueur if you like. Makes 1 martini.
Imagine this as a Root Beer Float......
